Hey guys! Welcome back to yet another blog post! I hope you're doing well and have had a lovely weekend! :D

So for today's blog post, I decided to talk about what happens when I don't necessarily follow a Keto-based diet and have a day or two off from Keto. I get a lot of questions about this topic and I am sure you might have had a question or two about it too! So let's get started!

So basically to give you a background, it was my birthday this weekend and I basically decided to spaz out and stuff my face with some good ol' carbs and sugar. And I basically did that and more over the weekend - I had Pizzas, Biryanis, Chocolate Cakes, Sandwiches and Cheesecakes and some Wine! Total Gluttony!

So what do these lapses do to my fat-adapted body? Let's start with Alcohol as it is the easiest. I can no longer have even half a glass of any drink and not feel extremely bloated and weird, sadly. My head starts hurting and I wake up the next day, feeling absolutely crappy and sick. So I guess, over time, Keto does help in reducing your alcoholic intake quite drastically, which is always a good thing in the long run.

As for the carbs, having Rice doesn't really affect my digestive system as much as Bread does. Bread has always made me feel bloated and has always affected my digestive system, and that was what precisely happened when I had some Sandwiches. And that is when I re-realised how much Keto has been helpful in tackling this issue for me on a daily basis! It really helps you in feeling better, and obviously when you feel better, you get a lot more done and you feel healthy, happy and fit!

And as for the Sugar aka Cakes and Cheesecakes, it doesn't really affect my digestive system as much. I usually have a slice of Chocolate Cake or something every once in a while or some dark chocolate if nothing else!

The other thing that happens when I get off Keto is I get hungry more frequently. On a Keto diet, I rarely have these uncontrollable hunger pangs and these urges to stuff my face with junk food. But over the weekend, I was quite hungry because my body was obviously not getting enough fats and hence, quite obviously overate!

So basically, to sum it up, while I love and live for these cheat days, following the Keto diet is something that really helps me in feeling better, more energetic and in staying healthy and fit. It helps my digestive system as well and reduces occurrences of issues like acidity.

So that's it for today's blog guys! I hope this answered some of your questions about how do occasional cheat meals affect your body when you are on the Keto diet! Please do give this post a huge thumbs up if you liked it and Subscribe if you haven't already! I will see you soon in my next blog! Keep Shining! :D

Thanks for sharing! I had been thinking about asking you the non-keto parts of the keto routine. I sometimes end up taking in way too much carbs and spend my next few days drowned in guilt. 🙈 Btw belated happy birthday! 😁
